Dr. Ronald Symonds, 67, of Westminster, passed away on February 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born December 29, 1948 in Dearborn, MI, he was the son of the late Robert and Jane (Davis) Symonds and the husband of B. Karen Symonds. Ronald graduated from Michigan State in 1971 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Ronald was a former president of the Maryland Veterinarian Medical Association and was considered one of the top vets in the state. He was a member of the Finksburg Emanuel Baptist Church and the Westminster Elks Lodge 2227. Ronald was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, and had a love of horses and equestrian sports. His family remembers him as a hard-working and self-sacrificing individual who always put his family first. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 35 years, Ronald is survived by four sons: Robert Symonds, Mark Symonds and wife Amy, Daniel Symonds, Eric Symonds; daughter, Katy Symonds and husband Wayne Lafortune; grandson, Tristan Samuel Lafortune; two granddaughters, Rachael Morgan Symonds, Emily Ann Symonds, and step-grandson, Alex Jones. A visitation will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Sunday, February 21, 2016, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, Finksburg, MD. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016, 10:00 am at the Eline Funeral Home Finksburg. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
