Rose Edith Wetzel, 74, of Union Bridge, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at her son's home in South Carolina.

Born Aug. 30, 1939, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Rose Ziegler Sinnott. She was the wife of Donald M. Wetzel, her husband of 56 years, who died the previous day.

She was employed for 50 years with English-American Tailoring of Westminster, prior to retirement. She enjoyed watching the Ravens and Orioles, spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

Surviving are son Donald W. Wetzel and wife Vivian, of Lyman, S.C.; grandchildren Donald W. Wetzel Jr. and wife Rachel, of Mauldin, S.C., and Tiffany Forrest and husband Joshua, of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; great-grandchildren Ava Grace Wetzel and Grace Eponine Forrest; sisters Lorraine Fowble and Sharon Sinnott, both of Westminster, Helen Gordon, of Bridgeport, Conn., Betty Reese, of Hanover, Pa., Mary Garber and husband Richard, and Katherine Wetzel and husband James, all of Union Bridge, and Linda Haines and husband Larry, of Taneytown; and brothers William "Sonny" Sinnott and wife Linda, of Union Bridge, Richard Sinnott and wife Louise, of Arbutus, and George Sinnott and wife Cindy, of New Windsor.

She was predeceased by sisters Virginia Bainbridge and husband George, and Nancy Spielman and husband Glenn "Jack"; and a brother-in-law, William Reese.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, noon Thursday at the Union Bridge Firemen's Activities Building, Whyte and Locust streets, Union Bridge, with her grandson-in-law, the Rev. Joshua Forrest, officiating. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Haywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
