Rosella E. Snyder Owings Weddle, 99, of Westminster, died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Dove House. Born March 31, 1916 in Mt. Airy, she was the daughter of the late Howard E. Snyder and Ida L. Magers Snyder. Twice married, she was the wife of the late John Thomas Owings who died Aug. 18, 1947 and the late Donald B. Weddle who died May 21, 1997. She worked at Westminster Shoe, Little's Cannery and Bish's Cannery. She was also a caregiver to many foster children and Ms. Sue and Mr. Crawford for many years. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. She was an angel to everyone she knew. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Mary Ellen Head and James F. Head of Westminster, sons and daughters-in-law, Ray L. Owings and Judy Owings of Westminster, John M. Owings and Shari Owings of Costa Mesa, CA, Donald E. Weddle and Cecelia Weddle of Hanover, PA, sisters Catherine Green of Taneytown and Evelyn Toms of New Oxford, PA and devoted sister-in-law Audrey Snyder. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous foster children. She was predeceased by a daughter Louise Weddle Dietz and siblings Marjorie, Mildred, Duette, James, Irene and Betty. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Private family burial will follow in Deer Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
