Rosetta Pauline Arnold, age 98, of Westminster and formerly of Middleburg, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born April 27, 1917 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Levi and Nellie Wilhide Aurand. She was the wife of Erle B. Arnold Sr., her husband of 76 years. Mrs. Arnold was a 1934 graduate of Elmer Wolfe High School, Union Bridge, and a 1935 graduate of Springfield Practical Nursing School in Sykesville, where she continued to work for Springfield State Hospital for several years. After raising her children, she worked in the kitchen at Brookfield Manor Nursing Home, Middleburg, from where she retired. She was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church. Mrs. Arnold was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She and her husband were always together and enjoyed traveling to all of the 48 contiguous states. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter, R. Gail Angell and husband, John of Westminster; son, Erle B. Arnold Jr. and wife, Nancy of Union Bridge; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Edwards of Keymar; and sister-in-law, Shirley Aurand of Smithsburg. She was predeceased by a grandson, a sister and four brothers. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, on Sunday, July 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at the funeral home, with Pastor Darrell Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Keysville.
