Roy Lincoln Shirley, 69, of Westminster passed suddenly on July, 18, 2016 at his residence. Roy was born December 9, 1946 in Darnestown, MD, raised in Laytonville, MD, and was the son of the late Walter and Hortense Shirley (nee Prather). He was predeceased by his wife Romaine Shirley. Roy enjoyed going on long walks, reading, and watching western movies. He was known for being hard headed and stubborn, but had a big heart and loved his family deeply. He was also famous for his beans and dumpling soup. He also served in the Army for 3 years. Surviving him is his daughter Eboni Shirley, his sister Callista Jennings, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers Walter Shirley and Charles Shirley. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. Interment will be private. There will be no repast after the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157. Online condolences may be offered at
