Roy Calvin "Stoney" Stonesifer, Sr., 83, of Westminster, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born September 13, 1931 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Esther May Stonesifer, Nettie Stonesifer and John Stonesifer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty J. (Wetzel) Stonesifer. He worked over 50 years as a truck driver for Harvey R. Shipley and Son, which is now SCC. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467 and the American Legion Carroll Post No. 31. He served in the Korean War. He enjoyed collecting donations for needy families in West Virginia and spending time with his family and friends, whom he loved very much. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Linda Stonesifer Dorsey and husband Mike of Woodsboro, Debby Stonesifer Kloss and husband Randy of Westminster, Sharon Stonesifer Norman and husband George of Westminster, Roy C. "Buddy" Stonesifer, Jr. and wife Peggy of Manchester, Terry A. Stonesifer and wife Judy Lynn of Westminster and Lisa Stonesifer Myers and husband Bill of Fairfield, PA., step-brothers Pat, Bill and Larry Phelan, all of Pennsylvania. He was also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Sonny Ruth, grandsons Jonathan E. Haines, Eric Lee Cote and Jeffrey Cote and a great-granddaughter Tally A. Cote. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Clementson, of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Linganore Cemetery in Unionville. A luncheon will follow the interment at Woodsboro American Legion, 101 West Elizabeth Street, Woodsboro, MD 21798. Memorial contributions may be made to the at www.heart.org.
