Ruth Katherine Fanning, 89, of Boring, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Golden Crest Assisted Living in Hampstead.

Born Feb. 19, 1923, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Christian Albert and Margaret Katherine Brown Eitemiller. She was the wife of William Francis "Ken" Fanning, who died in 2006.

Surviving are children Katherine Fanning and Erroll A. Ecker, both of Boring; a sister, Adna Sparks, of St. Louis, Mo.; granddaughters Gretchen Sisk, Bronwyn Betz and Kenna Haden; a grandson, Jackson Haden III; and great-grandchildren Haden and Willa-Kate Sisk, and Ewan and Seamus Betz.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hampstead Cemetery in Hampstead.
