Ruth Mae Hartman, 72, of Hampstead, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born on October 17, 1942 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Jacob John and Mary Ethel Lucas Picco. She was the wife of Thomas Francis Hartman, her husband of 48 years. Ruth was a graduate of Seton High School. She retired in 2011 from the Office of Religious Education at St. John Catholic Church. After her retirement, Ruth volunteered many hours at St. John Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are son and daughter-in-law Brian and Melissa Hartman of Hampstead, MD; daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Brian Goerges of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; daughters Angela Hartman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Nicole Chamberlin of Hampstead, MD; sister and brother-in-law Jacqueline and Randy Rogers of Brooklyn Park, MD; grandchildren Christian and Julia Hartman and Harrison and Olivia Chamberlin; and 3 nieces. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, where a Christian wake service will be held at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Eldersburg. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
