Ruth Naomi Althoff, age 82 of Taneytown, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her home. Born August 24, 1933 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Leo and Ruth Elizabeth McFall Herrmann. She was the wife of the late Robert Althoff Sr. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and a 1950 graduate of St. Michael Business School. She had been a secretary with Montgomery Wards for many years. She enjoyed puzzles and playing bingo. Surviving are sons Robert Althoff Jr. and his wife Donna of Westminster, Clarence Althoff and his companion Louise Sponseller of Hanover, PA, and Steven Althoff and his wife Patricia of Baltimore, daughter Ruth "Becky" Franklin and her husband Kevin of Westminster, grandchildren Robert Althoff III, Erik Althoff, Jared Althoff, Michael Althoff, Jeffrey Althoff, Heather Althoff, Adam Granic, and Amy Franklin, great grandchildren Robert Althoff IV, Skylar Althoff, and Owen, Griffin, Shepperd and Gracie Althoff and several nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Melby. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 7-9pm and on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Funeral liturgy will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
