Ruth R. Ashe, 83, of Westminster, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center.

Born June 26, 1929, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Ada Preibe Russell. She was the wife of Amos Ashe, her husband of 62 years.

She worked for the American Restaurant and also was secretary for Senator Dan Brewster. She worked as a bus aide for the Arc of Carroll County.

She was a member of St. Benjamin's (Kriders) Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and was an avid duckpin bowler.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Teresa Accuntius and husband Dale, of Bellbrook, Ohio, Nancy Ashe Warren and husband Charles, of Oxford, N.C., Judy Klinger and husband Bill, of Westminster, and David Ashe and wife Beth, of Bellefonte, Pa.; a brother, Francis Russell, of Baltimore; a sister, Marguerite Gaunt, of Baltimore; grandchildren Christopher, Justin and Cori Van Horn, Ashley and Andrea Warren, and Madigan and Erin Ashe.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster; and from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service, 11 a.m. Saturday at Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, with the Rev. David S. Schafer and the Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating. Interment will be private.
