Samuel T. Wilson, age 87 of Biglerville, PA died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his home after a long illness. Born in Baltimore, MD on March 06, 1927, he was the son of the late Wilmer & Hilda (McGreevy) Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific with the United States Marine Corp, a graduate of Towson State University and was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a Metallurgist for 44 years at the Sparrows Point Plant. He enjoyed woodworking and was known for his artistic ability. He was a member of the USMC Battlefield Detachment of Gettysburg where he had served as chaplain for several years and was proud of earning his black belt in Karate at age 60. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jeanette E. (Clary) Wilson, daughters; Dianna M. Thompson of Mount Airy, MD and Wendy Lynn Ash of Hampstead, MD, a son, Waynne Thomas Wilson of Westminster, MD, five grandchildren; Jennifer Unger, Dr. Amanda Ely, Katherine Wilson, Cynthia Ash Burkett and Timothy D. Ash, six great grandchildren; Alex Ray Burkett, Nathan Tyler Burkett, Lakota Avery Burkett, Madison Taylor Ash, Hayden Michael Ely and Landon Nathaniel Ely. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 9:30 AM from the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Carl Harris, officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park in Eldersburg, MD. A Viewing for Mr. Wilson will be held on Tuesday, September 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
