Sandra L. Summers, 60, of Taneytown, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at York Hospital.

Born May 26, 1952, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Oneida V. Humbert Pittenturf Kepner, of Gettysburg and the late Ray D. Pittenturf. She was the wife of Melvin "Jr." Summers, her husband of 38 years.

She was a 1970 graduate of Littlestown High School. She was employed with Littlestown Manufacturing and Lorien Nursing Home in Taneytown.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, both of Littlestown; and an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 120 in Taneytown. She enjoyed playing Bingo and portraying an elf for children at the Eagles' Christmas parties.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Troy A. Summers, of Taneytown; a brother, Robert D. Pittenturf, of Littlestown, Pa.; sisters Linda R. Riegel, of Littlestown and Joan L. Bair.

She was predeceased by a sister, Jean E. Pittenturf; and a brother, James W. Pittenturf.

Viewing is from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Tuesday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, with the Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating, Bridge Pastor of Redeemer's United Church of Christ in Littlestown. Interment is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Littlestown.
