Sandra Lee Barron, 74, of Westminster, MD, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015, unexpectedly at home. She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Lee Bitzer, her mother, Catherine Lucille Bitzer, her sister, Shirlee Ann Grimm and her son, Thomas Gilbert Barron III, and sister-in-law Gloria Schaefer. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Gilbert Barron II; her son Lee Barron; her daughters, Kimberly Elfert and husband Rolf, Dawn Elfert and husband Gary, and Tracey Barron; grandchildren, Carrie Elfert, Steven Barron, Craig Barron, Meagan Elfert, Sara Elfert, Brandon Elfert, Jake Barron, Gary Elfert, Kendall Barron, Brett Barron; great-grandchildren, Caden Bower, Ethan Barron and Hannah Orem; brother Butch Bitzer and sister-in-law, Mary Bitzer; sister Mary Newcomb and brother-in-law Bill Newcomb, sister-in-law Pat A. Johnson of North Carolina, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Lou and Steve Martin of California and multiple nieces and nephews. Sandra was a loving wife to her high school sweet heart of 57 years, Tom Barron. She was a fashionable and trendy shopper, the best mom, a pop-news guru with the sweetest tooth and she loved her grandchildren more than life itself. Sandra retired from Ryan Homes in 2001. Prior to that she worked at Giant Foods for 15 years. Just days before Sandra passed she told one of her grandchildren, "Ya know, if you're bored, you can eat a cookie." And so we will eat cookies and carry on with this sweet life, comforted by the fact that our Sandy, our Mom, our Mommom, is with her son Tommy and the two of them are watching over us. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with Rev. Pat Dols from Deer Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Loudon Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be offered to District 9, Area 29 of Alcoholics Anonymous, P.O. Box 251, Westminster, MD 21158 or a Homeless Shelter of your choice.
