Sean Ward, 34, of Littlestown, Pa., died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at home.

Born Jan. 28, 1978, in Baltimore, he was the son of Timothy and Deborah Shump Ward, of Warfordsburg, Pa. He was the husband of Miranda Smith Ward.

He was a 1996 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He was a stay-at-home-dad who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He enjoyed football and coached the Junior Eagles football team in Taneytown. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Orioles.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are daughter, Michaella Rachel Ward, at home; a goddaughter, Taylor Lee O'Hara, of Taneytown; brothers Aaron Ward and wife Ximing Zhao, of Charlotte, N.C., and Christopher Sturdivant and wife Jen, of Taneytown; and a cousin, Don Shump, of Baltimore.

He was predeceased by infant son, Joseph Ryan Ward, who died in 2009.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of memorial service, 3:30 p.m. Friday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Christopher Sturdivant officiating.
