Sharon Watson Fritz, 65, of New Windsor, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at her home. Born March 27, 1949 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Eleanor Eury Watson. She was the wife of Daniel Fritz, her husband of 41 years. Mrs. Fritz was 1967 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, and a 1971 graduate of Towson State College. Following college she taught social studies at Francis Scott Key for several years until 1977. She also worked as the secretary for Carroll County Farm Bureau for more than 10 years. She and her husband and children were multi-generational dairy farmers at Fritz Farm LLC, Wakefield Valley. She was an active member of Linganore United Methodist Church, Unionville, where she served in multiple leadership roles. She also served as leader of a ladies bible study group, The Edlea Jones Bible Study. She volunteered with the New Windsor Fire Company and Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and reading, and was an avid Maryland Terrapins fan and Baltimore Orioles fan. Her greatest enjoyment came from being "Granny" to her five grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter, Jessica Fritz Little and husband, Jeffrey of New Windsor; son, Jeffrey Fritz and wife, Diana of Westminster; grandchildren, Sawyer and Cooper Little and Emily, Ella and Addison Fritz; brother, Benton Watson and wife, Alice of New Windsor; father-in-law, George Fritz of New Windsor; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Jim Ecker of Taneytown and James Fritz of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor on Thursday, March 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Linganore United Methodist Church, 8921 Clemsonville Rd, Union Bridge on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. David A. Coakley, her pastor, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Linganore United Methodist Church, c/o Sharon Fritz Memorial, 8921 Clemsonville Rd., Union Bridge, MD 21791, or New Windsor Volunteer Fire Co., P.O.
