Sharon "Genny" Genevieve Ellyson Lockard, 48, of Staunton, Va., died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Augusta Health.

Born Oct. 31, 1964, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Sharon Weekley Ellyson Hill, of Lineboro, and the late Charles Thomas Ellyson. She was the wife of Brad Lockard, whom she married May 3, 1985.

She was a 1982 graduate of North Carroll High School. She liked all things outdoors, from hunting to Harleys, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are stepfather William Hill III, of Lineboro; children Shannon Seymour and husband Jason, of Lineboro, Bradley Lockard and girlfriend Jessica Brown, of Westminster, and Chelsea Lockard, of Staunton; sisters Denise Cavey, Tomi Jo Unkle and Elizabeth Haywood; a brother, William Hill IV; and grandchildren Makenzie, Brayden, Madilynn, Bennett and Brody.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Bear Funeral Home, 14 Green Hill Lane, Churchville, Va.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Dallas Jewel officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville.
