Sharon Lee Grimes, age 62, of Union Bridge, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster. Born April 8, 1954 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Quentian S. and Alma Kiler Derr. She was the wife of Robert D. Grimes, her husband of 42 years. Mrs. Grimes was a 1973 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. She was formerly employed with Random House, Westminster and more recently with Boscov's in Frederick. She was a member of Beaver Dam Church of the Brethren, where she and her husband were the long-time caretakers. She enjoyed cooking and baking, crafting, and was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son and daughter-in-law, David D. and Deb Grimes of Falling Waters, WV; grandchildren, Taylor L., Garrett Q. and Jordan E. Grimes; sisters, Rosella Reese and husband, Bob of New Windsor, Ella Mae Osment and husband, Joe of Essex; brother, Sterling E. Derr and wife, Pat of Union Bridge; sister-in-law, Reba Derr of Westminster; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Allan L. Derr. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown on Friday, December 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Greg Quintrell, pastor of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery, near Johnsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the , 4217 Park Pl.
