Mrs. Sherry Yvonne "Mama" Frye, 62, of Keymar, died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at her home following a brief illness. Born April 12, 1952 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Andrew Small Sr. and Mildred Irene Marquet Sandruck. She was the wife of Donald R. Frye Sr., her husband of 44 years. Mrs. Frye was employed as a certified nursing assistant in numerous nursing homes. She enjoyed cooking, reading, opening her home to anybody, her dogs and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. In addition to her husband she is survived by 4 daughters, Stacy Mehaffie and Rodger Klinge, Sharon Esworthy and husband Gary and Amanda Rhodes and husband Mark, all of Taneytown; Jennifer McGee and husband Bryan of Keymar; 4 sons, Donald R. Frye Jr. and Kimberly Myers of Westminster; Thomas Frye and wife Tabitha of Wytheville, VA; Jason Frye of Keymar and John Frye and wife Crystal of Gettysburg, PA; 15 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 3 sisters, Pamela Kuhn and husband Fabian, and Kristine Small, all of Hanover and Jolene Hymes and husband Mark of Thomasville, PA; 3 brothers, Wayne Small Sr. and wife Anna and Robert Small and wife Shari, all of Hanover and Bernard Small Jr. and wife Sherri of New Oxford and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by lifelong friends, Kathy and Larry Yingling of Linwood. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Marquet. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 23. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
