Shirley Jean Wardian, 74, of Little Falls, N.Y., died Saturday, July 28, 2012, in Little Falls Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born Aug. 16, 1937, in Little Falls, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mildred Stahl Lemche. She was the wife of Thomas M. Wardian, her husband of 45 years, whom she married Sept. 17, 1955, and who died March 26, 2000.

She attended Little Falls Schools. She traveled with her husband to many naval ports until they settled in Pennsylvania, then Maryland. After her husband's death she moved back to her hometown of Little Falls. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was expecting a new great-grandchild.

Surviving are children Michael Wardian, of Vancouver, Wash., Lynn and husband Wayne Parry, of Hampstead, and Steven Wardian, of Parkville; sisters Virginia and husband LeRoy Gross, of Middleville, N.Y., and Barbara Johnson and Donna Farrar, both of Little Falls; brothers Don and wife Carol Lemche, of Cedar, Minn., and John Lemche, of Little Falls; grandchildren Thomas and Danielle Moser, and Justin and Tiffany Parry, all of Maryland, Stephanie and Chris Matz, of Pennsylvania, Jessica and Brandon Reeb, of Idaho, and Sara Wardian, Amy, Brandon and Rebecca Yovan, all of Oregon; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ashlee and Isabella Moser, all of Maryland, Haylie and Lexi Reeb, both of Idaho, and Kailynn Yovan, of Oregon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Moser Donmoyer, on Aug. 23, 2003; a sister, Betty Jane Hill, on Sept. 28, 2006; brothers-in-law Wayne Johnson, in 1980, Harry Farrar, in 2001, and Leland Hill, in 2009; and a sister-in-law, Sherry Lemche, in 2008.
