Mary Shirley Kennedy, 88, of Manchester, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born February 3, 1927 in Gallitzin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Vera (Yingling) McCloskey. She was the wife of the late Joseph Walter Kennedy, Sr., who died in 1989. Shirley was a graduate of Gallitzin High School and a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Manchester. She enjoyed singing around the house and shopping at Boscov's and QVC. Surviving are sons, James K. Kennedy and wife, Betty, of Manchester, Joseph W. Kennedy, Jr. of Illinois, Daniel T. Kennedy and wife, Pat, of Bivalve and Timothy C. Kennedy of Manchester; daughter, Sharon Jenkins of Lewistown; grandsons, J. Michael Kennedy, Stephen J. Boilon, Jr., Kevin T. Boilon, and Jay S. Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Landon, Rylen, Weston and Emma Kennedy; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Paparelli and Mary Geraldine Campagna and Mary Eileen Zabierowsky and a son-in-law, Thomas Jenkins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester with Msgr. Jeremiah Kenney as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St, Westminster. Interment at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery will be private.
