Shirley Irene Trent Kline, age 84, formerly of Union Bridge, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her daughter's home in Littlestown, PA. Born January 27, 1932 in Bluefield (Tazewell County), Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Paul Trent and Belva Johnson. She was the wife of the late William Kenneth Kline Sr., who died on March 29, 2016. Mrs. Kline attended Elmer Wolfe High School, Union Bridge. She retired from Frederick County Schools, working in food service in schools in the Walkersville district. She then worked part-time at the Westminster Family Center. She was a member of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, Woodsboro, and also a member of the Red Hat Society. She had been a resident of Morning Glory Senior Living, Littlestown. Shirley had a great love for children, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and loved to tell stories. Surviving are children, William Kenneth Kline Jr. and wife, Mary Ann of Idaho Falls, ID; Deborah K. Wachter of Littlestown, PA; Timothy Mark Kline and wife, Melissa Paige of Swansboro, NC, and Lori K. Vaughn and husband, Terry of Littlestown; grandchildren, Michael Wachter, Mathew Wachter, Maresa Henry, Ashton Carovillano, Jacob Kline and Joshua Vaughn; great-grandchildren, Kasandra, Madelyn, Silas, Sheaffer and Gianna; sister, Phyllis Dayhoff of Walkersville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Lee Boyer and son-in-law, George Wachter. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro on Friday, June 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, June 18. Interment will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery.
