Shirley L. Sherman, 83, of Frizzellburg, passed away on March 10, 2018 at Lorien Assisted Living in Taneytown. Shirley was the wife of Charles W. Sherman and she passed just five days shy of their 66th wedding anniversary. She was born on August 25, 1934 in Pleasant Valley to the late Sterling and Bessie (Eury) Frock. She graduated from Westminster High School in 1952 and worked for the Development Corporation of America in Accounting. In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her son William S. Sherman and his wife, Nora Wyatt of Abbottstown, Pa. She also leaves her sisters; Arlene Rippeon and Patricia Shuffler, both of Hanover, PA; brothers Donald Frock and his wife Carol and David Frock and his wife Vanessa, all of Westminster. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Virginia F. Frock of Littlestown, PA and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son Rickey Sherman and her brother Kenneth T. Frock. Shirley enjoyed boating, lighthouses, Nascar racing, and family get-togethers. She was a member of the Jacques Cousteau Society. She also enjoyed writing poetry and achieved an Editor's Choice Award for outstanding poetry in the National Library of Poetry in 1996. Shirley also won various outstanding sales awards for Avon products. Her family will welcome visitors on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Andrew Reisberg officiating. Interment is private.
