Shirley Virginia Swartz Weetenkamp, 87, of Mount Airy, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at home.

Born Dec. 5, 1925, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. Swartz Jr. and the late Lillian M. Servary Swartz. She was the wife of the late John H. Weetenkamp Jr.

She was a homemaker. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles Fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are children John H. Weetenkamp III, of Catonsville, Sharon W. Swartz, of Berlin, Dawn W. Steigerwald, of Laurel Fork, Va., and Lisa Weetenkamp-Hurley and Amy C. Payne, both of Mount Airy; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral liturgy (Mass) will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with Monsignor James P. Farmer and the Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
