Shirley Yvonne Duvall, 75, of Woodbine, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Copper Ridge.

Born Aug. 1, 1937, in Howard County, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Mamie Unglesbee Harrison. She was the wife of John Willard Duvall, her husband of 21 years, who died in 1988.

She was a retired chief custodian at Bushy Park Elementary School in Howard County. During her last seven months at Copper Ridge she was cared for by the nursing staff and the whole Copper Ridge community. She was known as "Mom-Mom" by her grandchildren.

Surviving are children Michael Goad and wife Bessie, James Goad and wife JoAnn, and Kaye Shifflett and husband Tink, all of Sykesville, Johnny Duvall and wife Laurie, of Woodbine, and Steve Duvall and wife Shelley, of Hancock; her companion of 20 years, Jim Roderick; siblings Gilbert Harrison, of Eldersburg, Charlotte Sirk, of Lisbon, and Eleanor Hodges, of Mississippi; 11 grandchildren, including granddaughter Patricia Ebrahimji, whom she shadowed during her time at Copper Ridge; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Chapel Church Cemetery.
