Sophie Eileen Marchetti, 87, of Sykesville, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at Copper Ridge. 

Born April 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Sophie and Francis Jacob Luberecki. She was the wife of the late Vincent A. Marchetti, who she married Jan. 31, 1948, at St. Stephen's Church in Shamokin, Pa.

She spent most of her years as a homemaker taking care of her family and raising her three children. She enjoyed baking, sewing and, most of all, dancing. She was honored as a volunteer for the VA Medical System.

Surviving are children Ralph V. Marchetti, Dr. Gregory F. Marchetti and wife Mary, and Audrey E. Novak; a son-in-law, Robert L. Novak; grandchildren Vincent Novak and wife Amy, Anna Slowikowski and husband Mark, and Rachel Novak; three great-grandchildren; siblings Edward Lubereski, and Joan Bolick and husband Bernard; and a sister-in-law, Frances Luberecki.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Dippel Funeral Home, 6415 Belair Road, Baltimore.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Community in Eldersburg. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
