Sydney T. Marr, 95, of Sykesville, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Nursing Center at Fairhaven Retirement Community.

Born August 31, 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Ella Leith Theobald. She was the wife of the late William H. Marr, who died in 1955.

She graduated from the University of Utah in 1938 with a degree in accounting and split her career working for the FBI and the Maryland Public School System. She raised her family in University Park and later retired to Heritage Harbor in Annapolis.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law William H. and Jeryl Marr, of Dillsburg, Pa., Edward B. and Janet Marr, of Rochester, N.Y.; daughter and son-in-law Laurel M. and Charles Powers, of Westminster; grandchildren Patrick Marr and his wife Nicole of Gainesville, Va., Katie Gustafson and her husband Seth, of Athens, Ga., Kelly Breithaupt and her husband Jamie, of Prescott, Ariz., Jeffrey Powers and his wife Stephanie, of Nottingham, Kristy Powers, of Baltimore, and Russell Powers, of State College, Pa. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers Blaine and Leith Theobald.

Services and interment will be private and at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
