Sylvia Street Everett Jackson, 88, of Taneytown, MD, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Lorien Taneytown. She was born July 2, 1927 in Buladean, North Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Alaska and Minnie Hill Street. She was the loving wife of Peter A. Jackson whom she married on December 27, 1980. She was previously married to John Paul Everett who died in 1971, and Augustine Mazzacaro who died in 1976. Sylvia was a 1944 graduate of Manchester High School. She was employed and served as an officer of Westminster Trust Bank, and also worked at the Catholic Diocese in Harrisburg, PA, retiring in the late 1980's. She enjoyed seamstress and needle work, as well as embroidery. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, PA, where she was an active volunteer. Surviving, in addition to her husband, is son John Everett of Westminster; step children Lynn Pahland of York, ME; Jan and Bruce Otto of Mt. Airy, MD; Mary Chandler and her companion Ed Lagasse of Leesburg, VA; including six step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. Surviving are sisters Lydia Yox and Velma Beil of Hanover, PA; she was pre-deceased by four sisters, five brothers, and daughter-in-law Elaine Everett. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick Street, Taneytown, MD, with Father John Lesnick as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, 220 Third St., Hanover, PA 17331. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown, MD.
