Teresa Joy Walsh, 81, of Manchester, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born June 11, 1932, she was daughter of the late Carlyle Olson and Mary Costello. She was the wife the late Edward V. Walsh.

Years ago, she had worked for the Social Security Administration and Catonsville Community College as a records clerk, and also at Walmart. She enjoyed music, puzzles, decorating her home, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are children Lisa Ann Johnson and husband Michael, of Manchester, and Mary Walsh and partner Jonathan Crist, of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Daniel Johnson and wife Sarah, Tyler Johnson and wife Kahlyn, and Jacob Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Paisley Grace Johnson; siblings Joseph Olson and Patricia Jeffers, both of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 10 siblings.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with her pastor, the Rev. Paul Wenzel, officiating.

A private cremation will be held at All Faiths Crematory & Chapel in Manchester, and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Kennedy Krieger Children's Institute, Rehabilitation Dept., 707 N. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21205; or to The Humane Society of Carroll County, c/o Nicky Ratliff, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.
