Teresa "Terry" Lee Young, age 43 of Sykesville, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at her home. Born June 3, 1973 in Maryland, she was the daughter of Michael Wilson Combs and Shirley May Smith Combs of Millersville. She was the wife of Michael Joseph Young of Sykesville, her husband of 21 years. She was a former government employee and more recently a government contractor. Terry was a loving mother and her devotion to family was evident to all. She was admired and loved by all those that she touched and was a loving and loyal friend to many. She strengthened family and friends with her testimonies during her journey through illness. Terry enjoyed fitness and was a tremendous competitor in any and all games. She loved traveling and photography. Terry was very creative, a great family organizer, and a devoted member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Sykesville. Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are daughters Madison Jean Young and Lindsay Leigh Young, both of Sykesville, brother James Combs and his wife Sherrie of Essex, sister Kayla Miller and her husband Adam of Berlin, PA, mother-in-law Rita Young of Catonsville, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Daniel and Carol Young of Parkton, and Karen Pannella and Michael Pannella of Phoenix, MD, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Eugene Young. The family will receive friends at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 6-8pm and on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 2 -4pm and 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 7538 Main St., Sykesville with Rev. Terri Rae Chattin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terry's name to St. Paul's UMC, 7538 Main St., Sykesville, MD 21784.
