Terry Bankert, 60, of Westminster, died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at home.

Born Oct. 5, 1952, in Baltimore, he was the son of Neuman E. Bankert Sr. and Anna K. Fischer Bankert, of Westminster.

He was a 1970 graduate of South Carroll High School. He was a retired meat cutter from Shoppers Food Warehouse in Olney.

Surviving in addition to his parents are brother Neuman E. Bankert Jr. and wife JoAnn, of Columbia; sister Susan Six and husband Brett, of Taneytown; nieces and nephews Melissa Talbot and husband Aaron, Matthew Bankert and wife Bethany, Melody Bankert, Mark Bankert and wife Heather, Bethany Six and Scott Six; great-nephew Wesley Talbot and great-niece Vivienne Talbot.

He was predeceased by grandparents Edgar and Mary Wisner Bankert and Edmund and Johanna Steidten Fischer.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Frederick of Messiah Lutheran Church and the Rev. Gary Buchman of Emmittsburg Community Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in Highland View Cemetery in Berrett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice, Inc., 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 or Winfield & Community Volunteer Fire Co., 1320 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784.
