Terry Jasper Harless, age 71, passed away on August 3, 2016, at his home in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Terry was born in West Friendship, Maryland on September 11, 1944. He was predeceased by his parents, Perry Harless and Muriel Campbell Harless, brother Charles, and infant sister, Lillian Ruth. Terry is survived by three sisters, Patsy Hewitt of Cooksville, Maryland; Shirley Sheets of Westminister, Maryland; and Margaret Silva of Morristown, Tennessee; Aunts Audrey Brooks and Mildred Turnmire, also of Morristown, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Terry grew up on the family farm in Howard County. He went to Lisbon Elementary and Glenelg High School. As a teen, Terry could be seen driving the tractor, baling hay, or helping Uncle Bob at his dairy farm. Later, he learned to drive and repair dump trucks with his father. Terry also learned the carpentry trade from his cousin, Junior Ferguson, and worked in construction for many years. He liked to travel and worked on farms in Washington State, Texas, North Carolina, and Florida, where he learned about agriculture. Terry settled in Florida because he liked the warm sunshine. He bought a home there and an apartment building that he renovated himself and rented out, providing affordable housing for the neighborhood. Terry was kind and generous and always willing to help people. Terry grew up in the Baptist faith and attended Liberty Baptist Church with his family. As an adult, he studied with the Jehovah's Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Ft. Pierce, sharing God's word with the people of his community. A memorial service will be held in Maryland. May you rest in peace, dear brother Terry. We will miss you.
