Thelma Jane Grabill, age 89, of Union Bridge, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at Bethania Assisted Living, Westminster. Born January 31, 1927 in Union Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Etta Logue Pittinger. She was the wife of Charles Aubrey Grabill who died in 2011. Thelma was a 1945 graduate of Elmer Wolfe High School. She was formerly employed at Israel's Department Store, Union Bridge Clothing Co., Union Bridge Manufacturing Co. and retired from English American in 1989. She was a member of the Union Bridge United Methodist Church and the Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 8806, Union Bridge where she served as secretary. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, flower gardening and camping in Gettysburg. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sports events. Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Sue Grabill of Thurmont; a son, Kevin Grabill and wife Jennie of New Windsor; 3 grandchildren, William and Robert Grabill and Hayley Ott and a sister, Helen Garber of Union Bridge. She was predeceased by daughter, Karen Lynn Grabill and sister, Hilda Hobson. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with Rev. Sue Bowen and Rev. Margaret Moon, officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Uniontown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-6 p.m. Thursday, June 9.
