Thelma "Tummie" Key-Lyles, 78, of Libertytown, died Monday, July 16, 2012.

Born in November 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Dorsey Key. She was the wife of the late James "Froggie" Lyles.

She was the youngest of 10 children and lived her entire life in the Libertytown area. She was a graduate of Lincoln School. She had been an employee of Springfield Hospital Center for 30 years.

After the death of her husband, she spent her retirement years caring for her garden, her home and surrounding property. The Key/Dorsey reunions were helped by her input and organizational skills. She had close relationships with her siblings, and nephews Tom and Rick Key. She was religious. Her home was a favorite spot for three-generation card parties.

Surviving are Dave Key, whom she raised from birth; a brother, John Key; friends Linda Wright, Justine Anderson and Ruthie Miser; a sister-in-law, Connie Key; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, including nephews Tom and Rick Key, and niece Lois Cimino.

She was predeceased by brothers James "Bowser," Charles "Brug," Joseph "Putt," Paul "Bus," and Thomas "T.K." Key; and sisters Armella "Polly" Doweary, Mary Jones-Owens and Ann Magruder.

Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service, 11 a.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
