Thelma Mae "Sally" Dalton, age 91, of New Windsor, departed this world on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Carroll Lutheran Village. Born August 30, 1926, in Kingsville, MD she was the daughter of the late William Earnest Unkart and Emma Jasper Unkart. Sally was married to the late Charles B. "Buddy" Dalton, Jr., the love of her life whom she married on April 10, 1948. Together they were blessed with five children and their spouses: Carolyn and Frank Henderson of NC, formerly of Centerville, MD, Dottie Dalton of Pasadena, Charles, III and Sandra Tinker Dalton of Walkersville, Patsy and Bill Hahn of Westminster and Jeff and Christina Dalton of New Windsor; sister, Ethel Hipley and special nephew, Jeffrey Unkart. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Sally was predeceased by brothers, Ernest and John Unkart. Sally and her husband enjoyed attending dances at St. Paul's Church, Ellicott City where they danced all evening; raising their 5 children and were faithful members of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Ellicott City. She will be remembered for her green thumb, crab cakes and potato salad. She loved listening to country music, the Grand Ole Opry, Elvis Presley and watching baseball. In 1999, Sally left her home in Ellicott City to live with her son, Jeff in New Windsor. Sally's final years were spent residing at Carroll Lutheran Village, Westminster with her health declining. She passed away peacefully into God's kingdom while sleeping. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1pm. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.
