Thelma Shipe Miles, 72, of Hampstead, passed away on December 22, 2015 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born December 20, 1943 in Sykesville, she was a daughter of Florence Elizabeth Paynter Shipe of Eldersburg and the late Roland Dempsey. She was the wife of Bobby Ray Miles, her husband of 31 years. She had been employed as a clerk with Maryland Cup in Owings Mills and later for Solo Cup in Hampstead, retiring from there in 2011. She enjoyed going to yard sales and reading books. Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are sons, Donald Ray Thomas, Jr. of Hanover, Pa. and Scott Curtis Thomas, Sr. of W.Va.; daughter, Kim Renee Thomas of Owings Mills; sisters, Vivian Lee Shipe of Sykesville, Carrie Elizabeth Selby and Catherine Hicks, all of Sykesville; and brother, Roland Dempsey Shipe, Jr. of Hanover. Services will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be sent to the , 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784
