Theresa (Terri) M. Airth, 57, passed away on July 3rd peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital after a courageous battle with kidney disease with her family at her side. She was born April 24th, 1959 in Chelsea MA, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Martin. Theresa grew up in North Weymouth MA and graduated from Weymouth North High School Class of 1975. Theresa lived in Smithfield ME for the last 12 years, and previously lived in Sykesville MD and Hingham MA. Theresa had many diverse interests during her life including reading, baking, swimming, crafting, gardening, watching classic movies, and experimenting with many different recipes in the kitchen. She was a caring, compassionate woman who brought light into the lives of everybody she met along her journey. Theresa is survived by her husband of 36 years, Douglas E. Airth, and their three children; Alec D. Airth of Baltimore Maryland, Genevieve E. Airth, and Carolyn C. Airth both of Smithfield Maine. Mother Elizabeth M. Martin of Weymouth Massachusetts, sisters; Patricia Martin-Mcbride of Weymouth Massachusetts, Marybeth Smollett, and Clare Lyons both of North Weymouth Massachusetts, brothers; William Martin of Jonesboro Arkansas, Lawrence Martin of Brockton Massachusetts, and Randall Martin of South Portland Maine, many nieces and nephews, and close family friend Lauren M.K. Russell of Smithfield Maine. Theresa was predeceased by her father William L. Martin. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, July 16, at St. Jerome's Parish, 632 Bridge Street, North Weymouth, MA at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to The . www.kidney.org/support
