Theresa Elizabeth "Tres" Hush Mielke, age 91 of Sykesville, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born May 26, 1923 in the old town of Oakland Mills, she was the daughter of the late Samuel C. and Violet Elizabeth Murray Hush . She was the wife of the late Carl A. Mielke Sr. who died March 4, 2012. They had been married to for 70 years. She was a graduate of Sykesville High School, class of 1940. She was an LPN at Springfield Hospital where she was the nurse's assistant instructor. She retired in 1985 after 30 years of service. She loved sewing and created most of her wardrobe and her daughter's wedding dress. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and the Maryland Classified Employees Association. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of family. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Robert Frye of Sykesville, and Joy and Dean Watt of Westminster, sons and daughters-in-law William S. and Marty Mielke of Ocala, FL, and Carl A. Jr. and Darlene Mielke of Mt. Airy; sister Mary Hush Frank, granddaughters Deborah Frye Finecey, Dawn Mielke Glover, Tressa Mielke Ports and Kari Watt; grandsons Dale and Dean Frye and Jeremy Watt; great granddaughters Tara, Shelby and Jessica Frye and Taylor Glover; great grandsons Ryan Frye, Brady Finecey, Scott Glover Jr., Ians Ports, and Waylan Ruch; great great grandchildren Ayana Waters and Jabril Ashby, nieces Barbara Watt and her husband Jerry, and Brenda Hamilton and her husband Don. She was predeceased by her siblings Helen Rosabell Hush and George S. Hush. Friends may call at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 PM. Interment in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157 or to Oakland United Methodist Church, 5901 Mineral Hill Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784.
