Thomas Calvin Spivey, 79, of Westminster, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Nov. 11, 1932, in High Point, N.C., he was the son of the late Berta Hughes and Mitchell Spivey. He was the husband of the late Jeanette Julia Spivey.

He worked as a school bus contractor and for the State of Maryland at Springfield Hospital for 27 years.

He was a member of Deer Park Lion's Club, Elder's Baptist Church in Eldersburg, and the Baltimore Ramblers Motorcycle Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Larson, of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Elizabeth Spivey, of Silver Spring; brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Warren and Pauline Spivey, of Wichita, Kan.; and grandchildren Jennifer Larson, Greg Mills II and Dexter Mills.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Crosswind Church, 640 Lucabaugh Mill Road, Westminster, with the Rev. David Sulcer officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
