Thomas Francis "TC" Carroll Sr., 60, of New Windsor, died unexpectedly Friday, June 14, 2013.

Born Sept. 21, 1952, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Francis Walter Carroll and Mary Regina Wilkinson Carroll. He was the husband of Karen Lee Blackledge Carroll, with whom he would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on July 27.

He graduated from Gonzaga High School in 1969. He then attended the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, graduating in 1977, and later received his Doctor of Pharmacy in 1997. He also attended Towson State University, where he was awarded a Master of Science degree in 1995.

He enjoyed many interests and adventures, including achieving a black belt in karate, professional scuba diving, scuba instruction, baseball, hunting, camping, shooting and collecting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Thomas Francis Carroll Jr., of New Windsor, and James Charles Carroll and wife Mary, of Manchester; grandchildren Curtis James and Chloe Grace Carroll; a brother, James Carroll, of Springfield, Va.; sisters Terri Deiuliis, of Westminster, and Lisa Borek, of Glenwood; nieces and nephews Michael Deiuliis, Kristin Beauchamp, James, Ashley, and Ann-Marie Carroll, Nathan and Evan Borek; and many cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster; and from noon until the time of Mass of Christian burial, 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, with the Rev. George Wilkinson as celebrant. Interment will be private.
