Thomas James Kortisses, 71, of Westminster, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born on April 12, 1946 in Baltimore, he was the son of Paul James and Katherine Iris (Peterson) Kortisses. Thomas was the husband of Marian E. (Linz) Kortisses, his wife of 21 years. Thomas was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1966 to 1970 and in Vietnam as a radarman on the Destroyer, U.S.S. Hamner. He was a Network Engineer with Verizon retiring in 2003 after 33 years. Thomas was an active member of the Greater Baltimore Model A Ford Club. His passion was working on his 1930 Model A Cars and was also an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. Thomas will always be remembered by his beloved family. Surviving in addition to his wife are children Michael Kortisses, Laura Kortisses, Thomas J. Kortisses, Jr., Amy Rademacher, Melissa Erb, Michael Schwartz, Marie Schwartz, Megan Kush, and Anthony Kortisses; siblings Anna Blais, James Kortisses, Lori Wyatt, and Paul Kortisses; and numerous loving grandchildren, whom he adored. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 12 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster.
