Timothy Lee "Coach" Greenwood, 45, of Finksburg, died suddenly on August 12, 2014 at his home. Born February 1, 1969 in Westminster, he was the son of Robert and Linda Dovell Greenwood of Hampstead. He was the husband of Deni Greenwood, his beloved wife of 18 years. He was a graduate of Towson University. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Hampstead. He loved music and sports, the Orioles, Steelers, Panthers football, DLM , fishing and the beach. He was a certified scuba diver and he and his wife traveled extensively. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family. He taught at North Carroll High School for 10 years. He coached Little League and was a football coach for 22 years. He was an avid reader and had a knack to retain sports and music history. He bonded with people and touched everyone he met. One of the ways he will most be remembered is his sharing of stories with his many, many friends. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, is a daughter Kaiyli, a son, Shae, brother Robert Lee Greenwood, Jr. & family; brother-in-law, Davin Rudy & family; aunt, Margaret Shipley; cousins, Michael Shipley and Mark Shipley; aunt & uncle Celesa & Todd Hagan & family; grandparents, Betty & Francis Utz; step grandmother, Peggy Dovell. He was predeceased by grandparents Joe & Boots Greenwood of Hampstead and William Dovell of Hampstead, and an uncle Bob Shipley of Hampstead. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Eline Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Carroll Athletic Boosters, Attn: Gridiron Fund, 1400 Panther Drive, Hampstead, MD 21074.
