Tina Virginia Pipes, 45, of Sykesville, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Gilchrist Hospice Care Center in Columbia.

Born March 29, 1967, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of Harold Pipes and June Wright Pipes, of Sykesville.

She graduated from Glenelg High School and went to Villa Julia College. She worked at NIST (National Institute of Technology) in Gaithersburg as a secretary.

She enjoyed working, crafts, painting, planting flowers in the spring, TV and playing bingo with the friends. She liked '50s music and old cars, and also liked cooking new recipes. She enjoyed going to Ocean City in the summer, decorating her home, and taking care of her two dachshunds, Mary and Martha.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a son, Richard Pianowski, of Sykesville; brother Allen Pipes and wife Eva, of Sharpsburg; and a nephew, Dennis Pipes, of Sharpsburg.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James United Methodist Church, 12470 Old Frederick Road, Marriottsville, with the Revs. Lori Hays and DaeHwa Park officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery on Mountain View Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. James United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 9, West Friendship, MD 21794-9998.
