Travis Eugene Wetzel, 28, of Taneytown, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at home.

Born Dec. 31, 1983, in Baltimore, he was the son of Julie DeGroft Robertston, of Walkersville and the late Randy Douglas Wetzel.He was the husband of Kandi Gerber Wetzel, his wife of one year.

He was a member of the former Taneytown Jaycees. He enjoyed hunting, country music, playing video games, spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Ravens fan.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are a daughter, Kaeleigh Gerber, of Taneytown; a son, Gage Eckard, of Taneytown; a sister, Ashley Marie Wetzel, of Ohio; a brother, Matthew Wetzel, of Walkersville; a maternal grandmother, Mary Blum, of Taneytown and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by paternal grandparents Alfred Sr. and Mary Wetzel; maternal grandfather, James Dodge; and stepfather, Steven Robertson.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Linganore Cemetery in Unionville, with Monsignor Martin Feild, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Taneytown, officiating.
