Veleacha Mae "Lisa" Robinson, 53, of Hampstead, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1958, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Luvear Ernest Owens Sr. and Nellie Howard Owens. She was the wife of Stephen A. Robinson, her husband of 24 years.
She was a 1976 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and attended Western Maryland College in the class of 1980. She was formerly employed as a sales assistant for WTTR, then in order management with the American Red Cross.
She was a member of the Gospel Spreading Church of God in Union Bridge. She coached cheerleading for the North Carroll Recreation Council and enjoyed playing the piano, all types of music, singing, traveling and activities with her family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Janelle M. Robinson, of Hampstead; foster sons Tyrell Gilliam and BJ Hatfield, who both serve in the military; sisters Yvonne Flowers and husband Robert, of Detroit, and Velma Green and husband Marshall Sr., of New Windsor; brothers Eugene Owens, of Plainsfield, N.J., Luvear Ernest Owens Jr. and wife Toni, of Columbia, Thomas Owens and wife Deborah, of Westminster, and George Owens and wife Portia, of Baltimore; and numerous nieces and nephews, including niece Maria Owens, of Westminster.
She was predeceased by a sister, Alma Marie Owens, who died in 2011.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge; and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gospel Spreading Church of God, 4310 Edmondson Ave., Baltimore, with her nephew and pastor, the Rev. Marshall Jamie Green officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m. Monday in Pipe Creek Cemetery near Linwood.
