Velma Jean King Todd, 92, of Hampstead, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at home. Born July 4, 1923, in Rose Hill, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Bennie Hobart and Vola Kate Rosenbaum King. She was retired from Black and Decker in Hampstead. Surviving are son Lyle Newton Staples of Hampstead, son and daughter-in-law Teddy Carl and Leslie Staples of Frederick; brothers Lewey Keith King of Westminster, and Aubrey Glen King of Mt. Airy; sister and brother-in-law Barbara King Luckenbaugh and Richard Luckenbaugh of Westminster; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by daughter Janet Sue Staples. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 pm until the start of the Memorial Service at 2pm, at PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster with Rev. Malcolm Stranathan officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Uniontown.
