Vera M. (Heim) Sites, 87 of New Oxford, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Cross Keys Village the Brethren Home Community. Born May 7, 1930 in Orwigsburg, she was one of several children of the late Ralph W. and Elva (Daniel) Heim. Vera was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she loved her family and cherished the time spent together. Vera was a graduate of Gettysburg High School, class of 1950; she worked at Double Day for 35 years, retiring in 1987 and was a long time member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Hanover. Vera is survived by her children, a son, Robert L. Sites, Jr. and his wife Susie of Hanover, a daughter, Diana L. Spangler and her husband Ted of Hanover; six grandchildren, Amy Groft and her husband Ryan of Abbottstown, Stacey Hicks and her husband Adam of Hanover, Tony Spangler and his wife Tori of Hanover, Katie Pandoli and her husband Jay of Hanover, Timothy Kunkel of Hanover and Tiffany Kunkel of Hanover; seven great grandchildren Aidyn, Dylan, Madeline, Ella, Cayden, Lawson, and Ahliyah. In addition to her parents and husband Robert L. Sites, Sr., Vera was preceded in death by a son Darryl Lee Sites. There will be no public viewing, following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Vera M. (Heim) Sites will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Dr, Hanover, PA with Pastor Dan Thomas officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover and a luncheon will be served following the interment back at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 124 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331 or to Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Dr., Hanover, PA 17331.
