Verna E. Caulford, 68, of Westminster, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Transitions Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Sykesville.

Born Oct. 21, 1945, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Ed Jones and Edna E. Stricklin Hyle Jones. She was the wife of Byron N. Caulford.

She enjoyed watching soap operas, Elvis movies, listening to Elvis music, reading books and working with ceramics. She traveled throughout the United States and Canada alongside her husband, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Barbara Strevig, of Towson, Lynn Daubert, Michael Constantine and wife Karen, Norma Justice and husband Tony, all of Westminster, and Robert Caulford and wife Angelina, of Newport News, Va.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and former spouse and lifelong friend Frank Constantine.

She was predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Bill and Bobby Hyle; and numerous family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. John Leisters Lutheran Cemetery in Westminster.
