Veronn William Roehrle, age 83, of Westminster, formerly of Mt. Airy, died Thursday, May 5, 2016. Born March 25, 1933 in Woodlawn; son of Carroll George Roehrle and Helen Almeda Terry Roehrle, brother of Verna H. Roehrle and Vernon C. Roehrle, husband of Effa Lee Roehrle, all pre-deceased. Surviving include daughter Kelee E. Roehrle, son Erin S. Roehrle, granddaughters Paeten B. Roseli, and Bronwyn P. Roseli, and his cat Pita. He graduated Catonsville High School '51 and Maryland Institute of College of Art '62 with a degree in drafting and design. He served four years active in the U.S. Navy as AO2 from '52-'56 and four years inactive. He received a United Nations medal for service in Korea, the China Service medal for Vietnam and China mainland, and the Good Conduct medal. He served 15 years as a volunteer in the Woodlawn Fire Department. He spent 48 years working in various roles as a manufacturing engineer for Westinghouse Defense and Northrup Grumman. He was a long-standing member of Mt. Olive Methodist Church in Mt. Airy. He enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing, reading, and bird-watching. Most of all, he enjoyed napping before the fireplace with is cat on his lap. Gathering of family and friends will be held, Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM; with a Memorial Service starting at 11:00 am at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, (Beside South Carroll High School), Interment to follow at Mt. Olive U.M. Church Cemetery at 2927 Gillis Falls Road, Mt. Airy with a Luncheon to follow at Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mt. Olive Methodist Church at the address above or to Carroll Hospice, Inc., 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157. www.burrier-queen.com
