Virginia Gertrude (Clapers) Stewart, 95, of Westminster, went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Virginia was born on November 27, 1921 in Baltimore, MD and was the daughter of the late Samuel Roquette and Nellie Gertrude (Pinder) Clapers. She was the loving wife of Hammond Stewart for 71 years. She was predeceased by her brother and 4 sisters. She was a devoted mother to her surviving daughters Peggy Ridgely of Reisterstown, Debbie Perrine of Westminster, Betsy Lang 0f New Freedom and their husbands. She received much enjoyment from her 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Virginia was a homemaker most of her married life, at which she excelled. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, sewing, decorating, painting, flower gardening and befriending her neighbors. Virginia was an active member of Arlington Baptist Church for many years until she moved to Carroll County 27 years ago, at which time she became a member of Church of the Open Door. Her faith was most important to her, The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Carroll Lutheran Village Krug Chapel, 300 St.Luke Circle., Westminster, MD 21158, with Pastor Jim Crocker officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster MD 21157.
