Virginia Seiss, 95, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson.

Born March 2, 1919, in Walkersville, she was the daughter of the late William Powell and Myrtle Irene Kintz Powell. She was the wife of Raymond S. Seiss, who died in 1978.

She had worked for many years as a drug manager for the former Food Fair. She had been active with the Deer Park Seniors in Randallstown for many years.

She enjoyed her home, reading and especially spending time with  family.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Ronald and Patsy Seiss, of Sykesville, William and Marlene Seiss, of Pasadena, Md., and Edward and Linda Seiss, of Sykesville; daughter and son-in-law Karen and George Blair, of Millersville; a sister, Ruth Seiss, of Ellicott City; grandchildren Missy Delawter and Timothy, Kenneth, Tom and Jeffrey Seiss; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Crest Lawn Mausoleum in Marriottsville.
